"German Idealism and the Foundation of Philosophy," Technische Universität, Berlin, Germany, October 10-12, 2008.

The Conference brings together a group of internationally renowned philosophers. They will discuss the ways in which authors belonging to the so-called German Idealism (from Kant to Hegel) conceived philosophy, its nature, limits and tasks. The general aim of the conference is to focus on those aspects of transcendentalism and German idealism that may be fruitful for philosophical practice nowadays. The basic insight is that contemporary culture and science are facing now fundamental questions, concerning the nature and limits of life, the conditions of truth and justice in global or multicultural regimes. The philosophy of German Idealism seems to be particularly apt to deal with these topics.
