CAHIERS POUR L'ANALYSE Workshop Series, Centre for Research in Modern European Philosophy, Middlesex University, 2008-2009.

The aim of this series of six workshops is to discuss the central ideas developed in the French philosophy journal Cahiers pour l’Analyse (1966-1969). The first three sessions will be introductory, and will be focussed on an explication of the concept of ‘suture’, developed by Jacques-Alain Miller in the first volume of the journal, and elaborated and criticised across the remaining volumes by Serge Leclaire, André Green, Luce Irigaray, Jean-Claude Milner and Alain Badiou amongst others. There will be two or three short presentations at each session, but the emphasis will be on group discussion. Translations of each of the core texts are available from c.kerslake@mdx.ac.uk.
