Mark McWatt Presents the Edward Baugh 2008 Lecture.
The Department of Literatures in English of the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies hosted the second lecture in the Edward Baugh Distinguished Lecture Series on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, UWI, Mona. The guest speaker was Professor Emeritus Mark McWatt, an award-winning author. He has published two collections of poetry, the second of which, The Language of Eldorado (1994), was awarded the Guyana Prize. His first work of prose fiction, Suspended Sentences (2005), was the winner of a Commonwealth Writers' Prize in 2006.
